Fast Single-Top Cross Section Predictions for Hadron Colliders with the HATHOR Program(pdf)
The interactions of elementary particles are usually described by the successful, yet incomplete Standard Model. The study of top quark physics may provide a means to uncover its shortcomings and new physics. In this talk, a method for the fast evaluation of hadronic cross-sections for single-top quark production at hadron colliders is presented. The integration of the results into the existing HATHOR program makes them easily accessible for future use. The required input is extracted from existing calculations at next-to-leading order in perturbative QCD. All three production channels are considered. Eventually, the capabilities of the program are demonstrated by studying theoretical uncertainties of the hadronic cross-section with regard to different sets of parton density functions, couplings, masses and energies.
