Energy measurements of laser events with the fluorescence telescopes of the Pierre Auger Observatory.(pdf)

The UV-Filters of the fluorescence telescopes are exposed to the atmosphere. Thus a layer of dust accumulates on them over time. This dust layer affects all measurements made with the telescopes. In march 2014 a measurement campaign was made. During this campaign CLF laser shots were recorded with full camera readout for Coihueco and Heat. The UV-Filters were cleaned consecutively. I want to present the results of an analysis of these measurements with the following questions: How large is the effect? Which measured variables are affected? Is the effect dominated by absorption or scattering? And is there an easy way to compensate for the effect?
