Monte Carlo studies for the trigger of CTA (pdf)

The next generation of IACT experiments will have bigger collection areas, and the expected trigger rates will be too big, so new trigger strategies are needed in order to reduce these rates. In my presentation I will show some Monte Carlo studies of the effective areas and trigger rates of the telescope system at the trigger level, and I will present some ideas for new strateggies for the triggering system at the telescope level. The results are based on simulated data for a possible configuration for CTA and I will contrast with simulations done for HESS 2.
